Seed from*: USA / UK / Canada

Available Size: Seed kit with 8 capsules and nutrients

Plants Included: Mizuna, Blue Curled Kale, Rocket, and Radish

Nutritional Benefits & Planting Tips of Each Plant Type

Mizuna Benefits

Mizuna leaves carry very low calories. Nonetheless, its leaves hold ample amounts of phytonutrients, vitamins, and minerals. Additionally, its stalks contain a very good amount of dietary fiber that helps control cholesterol levels. Mizuna is high in antioxidants, can strengthen bone. It supports blood clotting, may reduce cancer risk, improves immune health, and also promotes eye health.

Blue Curled Kale Benefits

Kale is filled with powerful antioxidants such as carotenoids and flavonoids to help protect against various cancers. It's a low-calorie food that is high in fiber and has zero fat. Kale is a great leafy vegetable for aiding in digestion and intestinal cleansing.  High in iron that’s good for proper liver function and per calorie, kale has more iron than beef!

Harvest Tips:

When the leaves reach the size of your hand, it is time to harvest your kale. Kale is harvested from the outermost and lowest leaves and toward the centre.

Rocket Benefits

Rocket contains a range of health-promoting properties such as phytochemicals including Vitamin C, carotenoids, dietary fiber, magnesium, calcium, potassium, Vitamin K, polyphenols, and glucosinolates. This compound is a strong protective agent for our body and can help to prevent from several serious diseases.

Harvest tips:

Harvest rocket before the flowers appear to prevent the bitter taste of the leaves. If the rocket starts flowering, you can harvest little white flowers for garnish.

Radish Benefits

Its high vitamin C content boosts the immune system's health if eaten regularly. It prevents from common infections like cold and cough. Radish leaves are high in minerals like iron and phosphorous, which is known to boost the body’s immunity. They also contain other essential minerals like vitamin C, vitamin A, and thiamine which help fight fatigue.

Planting Tips:

Thinning is essential for radish. Radish is growing with its little head popping out of the basket when mature. If there is 2 or more sprouts growing in the same basket, the radish will fight for the limited basket space when mature which will give you poor harvest.

Harvest Tips:

When you see your radish peep out from the capsule, you should note the radish size. If your radish grows larger than the grow holes, harvest will become very difficult (The radish may grow with upper and lower parts larger than the grow holes, making harvest by pulling out impossible. All you can do is to try hard and cut half the radish.) Also, radish too large will make radish difficult to be removed from grow basket. Make sure you harvest your radish before it grows larger than the grow hole (The approximate harvest time will be 23 days).
